Generation Integration Screening Studies

ATC is voluntarily performing high level, steady state screenings of transmission facilities in each of its Planning Zones. This is being done to assist generation developers with the preliminary identification of potential locations where existing transmission facilities may be able to accommodate the addition of new and/or additional generation capacity.

So far ATC has completed the following studies:

• Planning Zone 2, encompassing Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
• Planning Zone 3, encompassing southwestern Wisconsin.
• Planning Zone 4, encompassing northeastern Wisconsin.
