To get a visual look at a sampling of anticipated future problems on
ATC's system, you can view these computer models that simulate power
flow at a future point in time. In assessing our system, we look out
10 years at factors such as load growth, capacity, population
projections and anticipated generation expansion because of the time it
takes to assess, plan, propose and build additions or enhancements to
the transmission system. We do not have the luxury of waiting until the
project is needed. By then it's too late to serve the anticipated need.
